In addition to meeting quality standards, enamel daily necessities also have appearance requirements. At this time, decorative enamel is required. There are three common decorative coating methods: inner white and outer color enamel coating, pearl glaze enamel coating, and spotted enamel coating.
(1) Internal white and external color enamel coating
The inner white and outer color enamel coating is used to make enamel pots and enamel pots. If it is cast iron utensils, you need to use spray enamel. You can spray the white glaze paste in the inner cavity of the blank first, and then flip the blank and spray the outer color glaze paste. Appropriate masking is sometimes required when spraying to prevent heterochromatic contamination. If the steel plate utensils are mostly enamelled, that is, pour the white glaze slurry into the cavity of the utensil, and then use the method of dipping to remove the excess glaze slurry. After drying, dipping the outer color glaze slurry.
(2) Pearlescent glaze enamel coating
For enamel with pearlescent effect, pearlescent powder can be used, but the pearlescent powder cannot be ground together with the enamel glaze. When using pearlescent powder, mix the pearlescent powder into the ground transparent base glaze, stir evenly, and then dip or spray the enamel until it is fired. On the surface of the glaze, it can be fired again after drying.
Pearlescent has a very low covering power and cannot be used as a surface glaze alone. The product requires three enamels and three firings of bottom glaze, surface glaze, pearl glaze, and the color of the product depends on the color of the surface glaze. Typical pearlescent glazes include silvery white pearlescent glazes over black and dark blue glazes; golden pearly glazes over purplish red and reddish brown glazes, etc. Pearlescent glaze is mostly used in oven shells and architectural decorative enamel plates.
(3) Spotted enamel coating
Spotted enamel is generally made by adding white enamel particles to the black and dark blue surface glaze slurry, stirring evenly, dipping the enamel on the bottom glaze blank, and drying and firing. The production method of white granules is: dry grinding the frit for a short time, sieve it, and select 40~60 mesh granules or 60~80 mesh granules as required. The amount of white particles added is generally 1% to 3% of the quality of the glaze paste. The black and white dotted and blue dotted enamels are mostly used for wild tableware exported to Europe and the United States. Another enamel coating method for spot enamel is: when manually spraying enamel, reduce the compressed air pressure and appropriately enlarge the diameter of the nozzle, so that the glaze slurry of one color splashes on the surface glaze of another color in a dotted shape, commonly known as "fine enamel". Hemp spraying".
