The quality of the enamel grade steel has an important influence on its machinability and enameling process performance, and even affects the quality of the final enamel product. Therefore, it is very important to measure the mechanical properties in advance. The following are the test methods for related tests.

1. Tensile test

① Use a micrometer to measure the length and width of three cross-sections at both ends and the middle within the range of the gauge length (L0) of the specimen, and take the smallest one of the three to calculate the cross-sectional area (S).

② According to the size of the maximum load, select the appropriate measuring disc, and configure the corresponding pendulum to make it match the selected measuring disc, adjust the measuring pointer, align the zero point, and move the auxiliary needle to make it match the active pointer Move closer while adjusting the autoplotter.

③ First install the specimen in the upper chuck of the testing machine, then move the lower chuck to make it reach the proper position, and clamp the lower end of the specimen.

④ Start the testing machine and the automatic plotter, preload a small amount of load, and then unload it close to the zero point to check whether the testing machine works normally.

⑤ Load at a slow speed to deform the specimen slowly and evenly. When the force measuring pointer is backward, record the load (Ps) when the metal is deformed and flowed. After the flow stage, it can be loaded at a faster speed until the specimen breaks. So far, stop, read the maximum load Pb from the sub needle, and record.

⑥ Remove the specimen, align the two sections of the fractured specimen as tightly as possible, and measure the gauge length L.1 after breaking.

⑦ Data processing: σs=Ps/S

σb =Pb/S

εs=(L1-L0)/L0*100%

Where: σs—yield strength; σb—tensile strength; εs—elongation.

2. Bending test

① Machining the test piece according to the standard. ②According to the thickness of the specimen, adjust the diameter of the elbow and the distance between the supports. ③ According to the welding form and the type of base metal, bend the test piece to the specified angle. The above two tests were carried out on a hydraulic universal material testing machine.

3. Impact test

①Do not install the test piece, hit it empty, and record the energy consumed by the resistance of the testing machine. ② Place the test piece so that the test piece is broken by impact, and record the impact energy required for the test piece to break. The above tests were carried out on an impact testing machine.
