The grinding formula of the enamel frit is also an important production operation condition that affects the enamel processing, especially the effect on the adhesion of the enamel slurry. Because different enamel slurries have different adhesion characteristics, when grinding different enamel slurries, it is usually necessary to adjust the grinding additive formula.

The clay in the grinding admixture is generally considered as a suspended matter, which prevents the precipitation of enamel particles, enhances the strength of the dry film, and contributes to the adhesion characteristics. The requirement for the use of clay is that the content of iron and mica in its composition should be low, and it should have a temperature viscosity. Generally speaking, if you want to increase the adhesion amount of the enamel slurry, you can switch to high adhesion clay in the grinding formula or increase the amount of clay addition or replace the clay with part of the bentonite.

 

In order to control the bubble structure and adhesion amount of the ground coat, the high adhesion amount clay can be mixed with the low adhesion amount clay in the grinding formula.

 

Electrolytes are also called "retaining agents" and belong to salts, which can react with clay and fine enamel particles to change the adhesion amount. Most of the electrolytes will increase the adhesion of the enamel slurry. For example, sodium nitrite is used as an anti-sagging agent in the ground coat and the cover coat, it can prevent rust in the ground coat, and the cover coat can prevent cracking. Adding urea can prevent cracking without affecting the sag.

 

Borax, as an anti-sagging agent for the ground coat, can also prevent the occurrence of copper spots on the ground coat and prevent cracking in the transparent enamel. Adding clay as a suspending agent will also improve the burn resistance of the enamel. The addition of lithium nickelate enhances the adhesion of the ground coat and can also prevent fish scales from bursting.
