The grinding of enamel frit is divided into dry method and wet method. Because industrial acid-resistant cover coat, dry-process cast iron cover coat and electrostatic dry powder are usually ground by dry method, while daily-use enamel ground coat and cover coat, industrial acid-resistant ground coat, Since the cast iron ground coat is wet dipped or sprayed, wet grinding is used. The grinding equipment for enamel frit is mainly a ball mill. Enamel factories generally use intermittent ball mills to meet various grinding needs.

1. The working principle of the ball mill

The grinding of enamel frit first requires a certain amount of balls, frit and grinding materials to be put into the ball mill. If it is wet grinding, water is also required. During the grinding process, the ball milling tank is driven by the motor to rotate, and the ball stone and the material to be ground are attached to the inner wall of the cylinder and rise. The material will fall slightly downwards during the ascent process, and when it reaches a certain height, it will fall due to gravity, and the frit and grinding objects in the tank will be crushed by the friction and impact of the balls.

 

2. The internal structure of the ball mill

The ball mill is composed of the main parts such as the feeding part, the discharging part, the revolving part, and the transmission part. The inner lining material of the ball mill tank can be alumina corundum, ordinary ceramic tiles or granite. The ball stone should be the same material as the inner lining. High-density alumina ball (3.2~3.9g/cm³) can produce greater impact and grinding force, so the grinding efficiency is high, and because it is denser and wear-resistant, it can maintain more constant grinding conditions, so Less pollution to the enamel slurry, shorter grinding time and longer use time.

 

Third, the factors affecting the operation of the ball mill

1. The filling amount of the ball

The filling quantity of ball stone should account for 50%~55% of the total volume of the ball mill. Excessive amount of ball will cause grinding materials to be gathered in the middle of the ball, making it impossible for the ball to impact and grind. Too little amount will reduce the grinding efficiency.

2. Rotation speed of ball mill

The ideal ball mill speed V can be calculated according to the following formula:

Vlimit = 32  ∕  √D

In the formula : D—the diameter of the ball mill (m); working speed V=Vlimit *(0.7~0.9 ) r/min the lower limit should be taken for the large-tonnage ball mill, and the upper limit can be taken for the small-tonnage ball mill.
