The chemical alkaline degreasing of iron billet is the process of removing oil stains from the surface of the metal billet through the saponification or emulsification reaction between the alkaline solution and the grease on the surface of the iron billet. This kind of fat can be divided into three types: animal oil, vegetable oil and mineral oil. Because the main components of animal oil and vegetable oil are glycerides and fatty acids, saponification degreasing is usually used.

Mineral oil cannot undergo saponification reaction with lye, so it is usually degreasing with emulsifier (surfactant). The emulsifier commonly used in industry is industrial soap powder, which is an anionic surfactant, such as sodium alkylbenzene sulfonate.

 

There are already many metal surface degreasers at low or room temperature, non-toxic or low-toxic on the market, such as weakly alkaline anti-rust degreasers, alkaline phosphorus-free and silicon-free degreasers, etc. These degreasers can reduce pollution, protect the environment, To reduce production costs, enamel manufacturers must choose the correct degreasing agent. Generally speaking, the higher the degreasing temperature, the better, and the longer the time, the better the degreasing effect.

 

Process and operation requirements of chemical alkali degreasing:

1. Put the iron billet into the basket, immerse all in the degreasing liquid, and shake the basket slightly to make every part of the iron billet fully contact the lye;

2. The temperature of the degreasing liquid must be 80~85℃, and the degreasing time is 5~8min;

3. After finishing, move to the hot water tank for rinsing.

As the production progresses, the degreasing liquid is continuously consumed, so the consumed part needs to be replenished once a day.

 

Chemical degreasing equipment: There are two types of chemical degreasing equipment commonly used in the enamel industry, immersion tank chemical degreasing equipment and spray chemical degreasing equipment. They have their own advantages. The immersion tank chemical degreasing equipment has low price, low maintenance cost, and spray The chemical degreasing equipment has high efficiency.
