Steel for enamel include hot-rolled steels, hot-rolled pickled steels, cold-rolled steels, cold-rolled decarburized steels, etc. Enamel manufacturers and related practitioners know that the selection and production process of steels are very important. If there are performance requirements, if the performance is not up to the standard, the subsequent body or product defects may be caused, which is a great loss to the quality of the enamel product and the cost of the enamel factory.
The following briefly describes the six key performance requirements:
1. Formability
The formability of enamel steel refers to the plastic deformation of enamel steel to achieve the desired shape, size and mechanical properties under the action of external force. The related forming methods of enamel products are mainly stamping, hemming, reaming, roll bending and so on. Generally speaking, as the carbon content of the steel and the content of impurity elements such as sulfur and phosphorus decrease, the formability of the steel will increase, but the anti-scaling performance will decrease. At this time, it is necessary to add some alloying elements such as boron and titanium to the steel. It can not only improve the scale and explosion resistance, but also improve the formability.
2. Strength
The strength of the steel after enameling determines the performance of the final enameled product, such as water heater liners and other pressure vessels, and the yield strength of the steel after enameling will decrease significantly. The less the degree of decrease, the better. Adding to the steel Alloying elements such as titanium and niobium can increase the strength of the steel itself and reduce the strength drop of the steel after high-temperature firing.
3. Anti-scale explosion performance
Generally, hot-rolled steel sheets have poorer scale and explosion resistance than cold-rolled sheets. When hot-rolled sheets are selected, they must have good scale and explosion resistance, and an auxiliary plan for scale and explosion resistance must be prepared, such as sandblasting for pretreatment. , Use less pickling, etc.
4. Adhesion performance
The hot-rolled sheet must be pickled or shot blasted, so that the surface roughness of the hot-rolled sheet after treatment is large, and the adhesion performance is good.
5. Anti-pinhole defects
Decarburized steel: The carbon content is extremely low, so the probability of pinhole defects is very small. It is generally used in one-time enamelling process, such as making enameled appliance panels, enameled heat exchange elements, etc.;
High-strength steel: high carbon content, high probability of pinhole defects, so its composition and microstructure need to be standardized.
6. Welding performance
Compared with ordinary steels, the welded structure of enamel steel is more uniform and finer, and its performance is better.
The above are the six main properties of steels for enamel. In addition, the surface of steels for enamel must not have defects such as wrinkles, bubbles, scars, delamination, slag inclusions, rust spots, and cracks. If you have any related questions, please leave a message!
