The acid resistance of enamel products is one of the most important properties. Many industrial enamels need to be in contact with acidic substances, such as chemical reaction kettles, stirring paddles, chemical containers, etc. This product has special high requirements for enamel acid resistance. Enamel can be purchased Acid-resistant glaze, industrial acid-resistant glaze to improve the acid resistance of the product. And daily enamel utensils, especially enamel pots, enamel bowls, enamel pots, etc., need to have an enamel layer with good organic acid resistance because they are in contact with organic acids (acetic acid, citric acid, lactic acid, etc.).
The following are the test methods and judgment standards for citric acid acid resistance of enamel products:
(1) Preparation materials:
1. The concentration of citric acid solution is 10%;
2. Glass or polyethylene cover with an outer diameter of about 30mm;
3. Filter paper with a diameter of about 30mm;
4. Pencil: Hardness is HB.
(2) Test method:
1. Use a straw to drop 2~4 drops of citric acid on each enamel steel plate, cover it with a lid immediately, and place it at 20~26℃ for 15min;
2. If the sample to be tested has a curved surface, place 2 pieces of filter paper on the sample, and then drop 2~4 drops of citric acid on the filter paper. Immediately cover with a lid and place at 20~26°C for 15min;
3. Remove the lid and filter paper, rinse with water, and dry with a clean cotton towel.
(3) Judgment level:
1. (Grade 1) AA: There is no difference between the acid-treated area and the untreated area;
2. (Secondary) Grade A: There are differences, but the acid-treated area does not lose its gloss. Use a pencil to draw parallel lines in the two areas, and they can be wiped off with a dry towel;
3. (Grade 3) Grade B: There is a difference, but the acid-treated area does not lose its luster. Use a pencil to draw parallel lines in the two areas. It cannot be wiped clean with a dry towel, but can be wiped off with a wet towel;
4. Can not be graded: the acid-treated area loses its gloss, and it cannot be wiped clean even with a damp towel.
