Information

Dry-process cast iron enamel frit is mainly used for large castings, such as toilet ware, brackets, rulers, barber chairs and so on. Its composition is far more complex than that of carpet steel enamel. Basically, it contains a variety of fluxes. At the same time, the opalizing agent must be directly melted in the frit.

All dry cast iron enamels use ground coat, the purpose of which is to protect the iron billet from oxidation and rust during heating. The ground coat can dissolve the iron oxide and impurities on the surface of the casting, and can also be used as an insulating layer to prevent the ingredients in the cover coat from being reduced by iron. The ground coat is covered with a layer of grout on the cast iron body, dried and fired to prepare the cover coat. This kind of ground coat requires a wide firing temperature and is not suitable for volatilization.

The ground coat of dry cast iron can be dipped or sprayed to apply a very thin layer of enamel on the casting. When it is inconvenient to immerse larger objects, the enamel slurry can be flowed through the casting, or the enamel can be applied by spraying. When applying the enamel by spraying, a little iron oxide can be added to the enamel slurry to make the observation easy. After the enamel is dried, it needs to be inspected and the holes and gaps need to be repaired. The cover coat of dry enamel requires skills and experience. After the body burned to the red heat is taken out of the furnace, immediately sprinkle the sieved enamel powder, use the residual heat of the body to burn the enamel on the surface, and then re Put it into the furnace and burn it.
